Randy Scott Steinlauf is an award-winning writer-director-producer and president of Paris-based film production company Shirasuna Productions.

His debut narrative short film, Fortificada – Family Council (2023), is adapted from his historical fiction feature screenplay Fortificada which is currently in development seeking co-production partners. His second short film, The Festival (2024) is a satirical comedy that offers a humorous look at the world of film festivals.

In late 2025, he completed principal photography in London on his upcoming short film, The Frog-Prince. It’s a mockumentary-style cautionary tale currently in post-production and slated for completion in Q2 2026. His dark comedy short film, Seniors Suicide Club, is in now pre-production with principal photography planned in Portugal for the summer of 2026.

Beyond his screen work, in early 2025, he wrote his first stage play, Manifestation (which he has also adapted into a feature screenplay). In November 2025, he published his debut novel, The Expat, a satirical fiction that takes on the absurdity of corporate America. The novel is based on his earlier screenplay of the same name.

He holds a Masters in International Business Studies from the University of South Carolina and a BA in French from the University of Illinois.

Currently based in Portugal, he is fluent in English, French, and Portuguese, and conversational in Japanese.
